Gwinnett Braves Get Pitcher From Atlanta

Mike Minor optioned back to Class AAA club. GMC giving out Freddie Freeman bobbleheads Saturday.

The Gwinnett Braves have again added pitcher Mike Minor from the parent club in Atlanta. The G-Braves announced the move Wednesday (June 1) when outfielder Matt Young was recalled to Atlanta.

Minor is a left-handed starter who was 3-2 with a 5.98 earned run average with Atlanta. He is expected to be recalled to Atlanta later in June when the parent club needs a fifth starting pitcher, according to news reports.

With Gwinnett in 2011, Minor is 4-1 with a 1.98 earned run average in 33 1/3 innings.

The G-Braves are 26-26 after Wednesday's loss to Lehigh Valley (32-20). Thursday, the G-Braves host Lehigh Valley at 7:05 p.m. at Coolray Field.

Starting Friday the G-Braves play a four-game series against the Buffalo Bisons June 3-6. All games start at 7:05 p.m. Fireworks follow Friday night games through the summer. For a complete G-Braves schedule, visit www.gwinnettbraves.com.

Gwinnett Medical Center is sponsoring the Gwinnett Braves Freddie Freeman Bobblehead Giveaway Saturday, June 4. The first 4,000 fans through the gate will receive the collectible bobbleheads. Freeman was the International League Rookie of the Year in 2010. He is currently starting first baseman for the Atlanta Braves. To find out about other G-Braves promotions and giveaways, click here.

Regular price tickets range from $6 to $35. Prices are $6 for adults for the Lawn, $5 for children 3-12, senior citizens over 60 and military with ID; Baseline Box seats, $8 and $6; Field Box, $12 and $10; Infield Box $15 and $15; Braves Dugout, $18 and $18; and Home Plate Club, $35 and $35. Children under 2 are admitted free.
