Get Out: Weekend Planner for Duluth, Gwinnett

There are lots of events occurring in Duluth and other communities in Gwinnett County this weekend. The list has increased to 53 events.

The Greater Gwinnett Championship being played at TPC Sugarloaf in Duluth. An impressive field of 81 age 50-plus professional golfers is playing in the 54-hole tournament Friday through Sunday.

The golf tournament headlines the comprehensive list of activities occurring April 19-21 in Duluth and throughout Gwinnett County provided by the Gwinnett Convention & Visitors Bureau, now known as Explore Gwinnett.

In Duluth, ‘Barabbas’ opened Thursday at New Dawn Theater. Performances continue Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. A Sunday matinee is scheduled for 2 p.m.

Peter Bradley Evans is appearing at the Red Clay Theatre Friday night followed by an in-the-round performance by singer-songwriters Phil Madeira, Naked Blue and Wyatt Easterling Saturday night.

Duluth’s Got Talent is showcasing Duluth middle and high school musicians and vocalists Sunday afternoon at RCT. Proceeds benefit the Duluth cluster Schools Foundation.

The Duluth High School Chorus is presenting its Peach Jam 2013 concert Friday and Saturday nights.

Wild Bill’s is hosting concerts by the John King Band and Georgia Red Clay Friday Night. Also, Cosmoscope Rockes the Crown Friday night. An All Green Everything Dub Glow Party is planned Saturday night.

Popular Latin singer Romeo Santos is appearing at Gwinnett Arena Saturday night.

Kurt’s Bistro continues its spring concert series Friday and Saturday.

Due to a forecast of inclement weather, the Spring Art Walk in downtown Duluth Friday evening has been rescheduled to April 26.

The Duluth Historical Society is holding its Spring Plant Sale Saturday at the Strickland House.

The Gwinnett Gladiators are involved in Game 1 and Game 2 of the Kelly Cup semi-finals Friday and Sunday at Gwinnett Arena.
