G-Braves Lose to IronPigs, Drop Below .500

Friday starts eight-game series against Buffalo Bisons. GMC giving away bobbleheads Saturday.

The Gwinnett Braves lost Thursday to division leading Lehigh Valley, 4-0 at Coolray Field, and dropped under .500 (26-27) for the first time this season.

The visitors' Jeff Larish hit a bases-empty home run in the fourth inning for the only runs his team would need. Gwinnett managed just three hits. Loganville native Brandon Moss also had a home run and two RBI for the IronPigs. Erik Cordier (0-1) took the loss for Gwinnett.

The G-Braves host the Buffalo Bisons on Friday at 7:05 p.m. at Coolray Field. Todd Redmond (3-5) will be the starting pitcher for Gwinnett. Every Friday is fireworks night after the game.

Gwinnett Medical Center is sponsoring the Gwinnett Braves Freddie Freeman Bobblehead Giveaway Saturday, June 4. The first 4,000 fans through the gate will receive the collectible bobbleheads. Regular price tickets range from $6 to $35. Prices are $6 for adults for the Lawn, $5 for children 3-12, senior citizens over 60 and military with ID; Baseline Box seats, $8 and $6; Field Box, $12 and $10; Infield Box $15 and $15; Braves Dugout, $18 and $18; and Home Plate Club, $35 and $35. Children under 2 are admitted free.
