Junior League Golf World Series Championship

The TPC Sugarloaf country club in Duluth is playing host to the inaugural Junior League Golf World Series starting Saturday morning, Sept. 17, and finishing up the Sunday after. Four teams of ten players each representing Atlanta, Dallas, Tampa, and San Diego will compete for the trophy. Duluth's own Alex Kim will be competing for the Atlanta team.

Junior League Golf, a national "grow the game" initiative, aims to foster a love of golf among children ages 9-13 in a lower pressure environment based on the Little Leagues model. Instead of competing stroke-for-stroke against the entire field, young players instead face off in 2 versus 2 matches. This allows each young player to contribute and be involved in their team's success or failure, regardless of their individual ability.
