SOCCER

HOSCHTON ― It was a disappointing week for Duluth's soccer teams, which lost all three of their matches.

The Lady Wildcats (5-2-1) gave Mill Creek, the state's No. 4 ranked team, all they could handle before falling 2-1 on Monday in a Region 7-AAAAA match. Duluth's only goal came on a penalty kick by Erin Falk.

Mill Creek (8-1, 1-0) received goals from Lindsay Kempf off an assist by Torie Scalera and Scalera off a feed by Tatum O'Keefe.

In the other Monday match, the Hawks used a well-balanced offense to blank Duluth's boys 6-0. Six different players got in on the scoring for Mill Creek (8-1, 1-0). Matt Sinclair, Taylor Scalera, T.J. Hoppiness, Brandon O'Toole, Collin Robinson, Kenny Valencia each scored for the Hawks.

DULUTH ― The Duluth girls closed out the week with another heartbreaking loss, this time to Norcross by a score of 1-0. The Wildcats had many chances, attempting 13 shots on goal, but couldn't connect in the Region 7-AAAAA match up.

GOLF

DULUTH -- It was a picture-perfect spring day, but a dark cloud seemed to hang over the Duluth golfers who were simply no match for Mill Creek. Emerson Newsome and TuHyun Choi burned up the course with a pair of 39s to lead Mill Creek to a 161-234 win at Hamilton Mill. Duluth's low scorer was Justin Cho.
