Where's A Good Hero When You Need One?

Woke up this morning and made a list of things to do. Number 1 on our list was to make a list of things to do...What we need is a hero!

Woke up this morning and made a list of things to do. Number 1 on our list was to make a list of things to do. Aah…the satisfying feeling of accomplishment! Does the first cup of coffee count as an accomplishment? Works for us...that makes two down on the list! Here we come to save the day!

As we look at our list, it hits us: Turns out that we are happiest, surrounding ourselves with Active Positive People, doing and planning active positive stuff. What a revelation! “Yes, Mom, we know we should do a few things by ourselves, but some things require help, and it's more fun when shared anyway. Like our T-shirts say: "Plays Well With Others."

By now we are working on our nutty cinnamon oatmeal...that's three down! Okay, okay, we are not putting off planning and listing the difficult stuff -- we are just deciding which of our active friends care to join us. After all, painting the fence can be fun! Some of our active friends are role models -- shouldn't they want to help? Some of our active friends can be downright heroic -- maybe they're available. If not, guess we will have to break down and do the heavy lifting ourselves. What we need is a hero!

The Greek term "hero" was a demigod super hero, capable of saving us from imagined monster like evils of the world. Check out our last blog article   However, today’s heroes are very real role models, reminding us that we are made of the same stuff as they, and with a bit of a stretch, we can emulate them, and surely accomplish our mundane morning list.

So where are these heroes when you need one…maybe another cup of coffee?

Look up in the sky! It's a bird. It's a plane. It's “Mirror Man!” He looks like us, and therefore good looking, but he acts like our very own customized hero. He has strength and endurance out the wazoo, intelligence beyond the known and unknown universe, experience of the ages, compassion of an ER nurse, creativity of a Renaissance inventor, and the moral character of a saint. He keeps his promises, and sometimes even his sense of humor. He has his own positive self-image…what a guy! The day is a success, and our list is secure!

So what's on your list today? “Got things to go, places to see, and people to do?”  Any of your tasks seem difficult? If so, call on your “Mirror Man” -- he's the fairest of them all.

Positively yours,
Sheri and Bill
