School Head Count Exceeds Forecast

Gwinnett County Public Schools enrollment surpasses post-Labor Day forecast by 130 students.

 

Enrollment in Gwinnett County Public Schools exceeded the forecast by 130 students, according to a head count conducted after Labor Day.

The Sept. 6 count resulted in an enrollment of 162,589 students compared to the post-Labor Day forecast of 162,459. This indicates growth of 5,630 students since the district's first count on Aug. 9 and an increase of 405 students since last week's count, according to Jorge Quintana, GCPS director of media relations.

Duluth High School’s enrollment reached 2,527, representing an increase of 66 students over its forecast of 2,461, according to results of the fifth enrollment count.

Chattahoochee Elementary School gained 36 students from the last count, Duluth Middle School increased by 20, and Berkeley Lake Elementary grew by 17 students. B.B. Harris Elementary reported an increase of 31 students in the fifth count.
