Rally Inspires Students to Raise Playground Funds

Chattahoochee Elementary campaign to culminate in Fantabulous Fun Fitness Friday Oct. 14.

More than 1,200 Chattahoochee Elementary School students, teachers and PTA volunteers attended a rally to create excitement about raising $50,000 for new playground equipment and landscaping.

Emceed by B98.5FM Radio’s Kelly Stevens, the Sept. 23 rally began with stunts and tumbling performed by Cheer Dance Atlanta. Principal Jeff Lee linked in to the rally from Washington, DC, where he was discussing school issues with lawmakers.

Students in Grades 1-5 are collecting funds during the PTA-sponsored campaign that culminates in a “Fantabulous Fun Fitness Friday” Oct. 14 featuring Zumba classes for the entire Duluth school, relay races, cage ball, and hula hoop games. Fitness sessions are scheduled for 8:30 a.m., 10:20 a.m., and 12:30 p.m.
