Preczewski Named GGC's Interim President

Dr. Stanley Stas Preczewski will fill in after Dr. Daniel Kaufman's tenure as president of Georgia Gwinnett College ends in June.

University System of Georgia (USG) Chancellor Hank Huckaby announced Friday (March 22) that Dr. Stanley “Stas” Preczewski will temporarily take on the role of president of Georgia Gwinnett College.

Preczewski is currently the college's vice president for Academic and Student Affairs at the Lawrenceville college. His first day as interim president will be July 1, one day after Dr. Daniel Kaufman's last day at GGC. Kaufman was named the new President and CEO of the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce last week.

Preczewski has served in his current position since GGC's founding in 2005. He also held the position of interim president of Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville, from July 2011 through June 2012.

“The System is full of exceptional leadership and we are fortunate to be able to call on Dr. Preczewski to lend his talents to this expanded role at Georgia Gwinnett College,” said Huckaby in a news release. “His presidential experience and his deep knowledge of Georgia Gwinnett make him the right person to serve in this critical interim capacity.”

Preczewski received his Ph.D. specializing in higher and adult education from the University of Missouri in 1997. He also holds two master's degrees.
