New GCPS Snow Makeup Days: April 22, May 27

School system extends school year to make up for January's snow/ice storm.

Gwinnett County Public Schools announced Monday evening that the school year just got one day longer, closing the book on makeup days for January's snow/ice storm.

Friday, April 22 (Good Friday), and Friday, May 27, will be school days for students. This means that some graduation schedules have been adjusted. May 27 becomes the last day of school for students.

Makeup days previously announced by the school system were Feb. 21, March 14 and May 26.

School was cancelled Jan. 10-14 because of the 3-5 inches of snow and ice that shut down virtually all of Gwinnett County and other parts of the Atlanta area.
