Meeting with School Board Rep Mary Kay Murphy Coming Up at Norcross High

5 Area Board Meetings offer opportunity for community to learn about their school system.

The Gwinnett County Board of Education begins a series of five Area Board Meetings this week designed to give the community the opportunity to learn more about the school system and offer their own input.

Each spring the School Board goes on the road to meet in each member’s district.

The meetings also will feature Superintendent J. Alvin Wilbanks’ annual address on the state of the school district.

Peachtree Corners and Norcross parents can meet with District 3 Board member Dr. Mary Kay Murphy on Thursday, April 3 at 7 p.m. at Norcross High School.

District 3 includes the following schools:

Berkeley Lake Elementary; Buice School; Burnette Elementary; Chattahoochee Elementary; Duluth High; Duluth Middle; GIVE Center West; Harris Elementary; Hull Middle; Jackson Elementary; Lanier Middle; Level Creek Elementary; Mason Elementary; McKendree Elementary; Monarch School; New Life Academy of Excellence; Norcross High; North Gwinnett High; North Gwinnett Middle; Parsons Elementary; Peachtree Elementary; Peachtree Ridge High; Pinckneyville Middle; Riverside Elementary; Simpson Elementary; Sycamore Elementary; and White Oak Elementary.

The Board meetings are scheduled by electoral districts, but the public is invite any of the sessions. They are all scheduled for 7 p.m. in each school’s theater.

  • District 2 (Daniel Seckinger), Central Gwinnett High, April 1.
