Lady Wildcat Athletes Win Scholarships

Three athletes sign letters of intent to accept scholarships during ceremony at Duluth High School.

While proud parents, coaches, teachers, teammates, and friends watched, three Lady Wildcat athletes signed letters of intent for college scholarships at Duluth High School’s Early Signing Day Wednesday (Nov. 14).

Ali Cole, a midfielder on the Lady Wildcats Lacrosse team, earned the first-ever scholarship awarded for lacrosse at Duluth High School. Ali has played on the team since it was formed four years ago. She will be attending and playing lacrosse at Erskine College in South Carolina next fall.

Lady Wildcats Softball pitcher Jeanie Perrucci was awarded a scholarship to Carson-Newman College in Tennessee. Perrucci compiled a record of 60 wins and 600 strikeouts at DHS.

Joi Jones, a Lady Wildcats Basketball guard, accepted a basketball scholarship at Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C.

The athletes, seated with their parents, signed their letters at tables decorated in their college colors set up in the lobby of the 600 Building. Refreshments were served after the ceremony.
