Georgia's First Lady To Visit Duluth

Sandra Deal plans a reading session as part of Pre-K week.

Georgia's first lady will be coming back to Duluth very soon.

According to a news release, Sandra Deal will be appearing at a Discovery Point Child Development Center location in Duluth on Thursday, Oct. 3, as part of the state's Pre-K week.

Sandra Deal will be reading to children at the location at 3800 Howell Ferry Road 30096, in Duluth from about 10:15 a.m. to 11 a.m.

“We are so honored that First Lady Sandra Deal is taking time away from her demanding schedule to spend some time with us,” Michelle Malizioso, owner of Discovery Point Child Development Center No. 3, said in the release. “We need leaders like her to be vocal about the positive effects that early childhood education programs have on the future success of the child, and of our state.”

Sept. 30-Oct. 4 is the state’s official Pre-K Week, hosted by Voices for Georgia’s Children (www.georgiavoices.org) and its Pre-K Week partners.

Sandra Deal is one of about 150 officials who will visit some of the approximately 3,800 Pre-K classrooms located all over Georgia.

The first lady was in Duluth last weekend with her husband, Gov. Nathan Deal, for the Duluth Fall Festival.
