Georgia Gwinnett Awards More Than 300 Degrees at Commencement Ceremony

The event included special recognition of GGC's first ROTC cadet to receive a commission in the U.S. Army.

More than 300 graduates at Georgia Gwinnett College were given bachelor’s degrees at the college’s commencement celebration Thursday May, 16.

More than 3,000 people attended the ceremony, with featured speaker Karyn Greer, a news anchor with WXIA-TV in Atlanta.

The event included special recognition of GGC’s first ROTC cadet to receive a commission in the U.S. Army.

Dennis Crutcher, III, who received a bachelor’s degree in business administration today, was sworn in as a second lieutenant. He soon leaves for Fort Sill in Oklahoma to be trained as a field artillery officer.

This graduating class, GGC’s largest to date, brings the college’s total alumni to more than 1,800.
