U.S. Rep Holding Town Hall Meeting, Veterans Session in Gwinnett

A town hall meeting is set for Suwanee.

Rep. Rob Woodall of Georgia will be hosting a series of events this week as he returns to the Seventh District from Washington. Having just recently held two tele-town hall meetings while in D.C., Woodall will also have two in-person town hall meetings this coming week.

The first will be Tuesday, Jan. 21, at 7 p.m. in the Forsyth County Administration Building, and the second will be on Thursday, Jan. 23, in Suwanee City Hall at 7 p.m.

In addition to these events, Woodall is also hosting a Veterans Assistance Open House at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center in Lawrenceville from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday.

Military veterans of the Seventh District are encouraged to come and share any questions or concerns regarding their service benefits.  Representatives from several government agencies, including the Department of Veterans Affairs, will be on hand to answer questions and provide assistance.

While only mid-January, opportunities for Seventh District residents to directly communicate with Woodall have been plentiful, and he is eager to listen, according to the press release.

“My expectations are high for 2014. There is much work to be done, and I look forward to what we can accomplish together,” Woodall said in the news release. “I know families are busy and have many competing obligations, but their willingness to come out and participate in these events makes a difference in Washington. I’m grateful to represent a district that maintains such a high level of involvement.”

With much of the political conversation being dominated by national policy concerns, Woodall says that public service should always remain the primary focus.

“Politics can be complicated and divisive, but serving your neighbor is not. Our military veterans and their families embody the best of these service values, and they are such a remarkable blessing to all of us," he said. "One of the greatest honors I have in serving the Seventh District in Congress is the opportunity to assist our veterans.  My office works with individual veterans daily and our Veterans Assistance Open House this Thursday is an extension of that service. We’re bringing experts from all of the VA service agencies together in one place so that veterans can get face-to-face solutions.”
