Santorum, Ann Romney Appearing in Area Today

The Super Tuesday campaigning in metro Atlanta already has begun.

Following Tuesday's primaries in Michigan and Arizona, Republican candidates and their representatives plan appearances this week in Atlanta, according to media reports.

The respected Political Insider column in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Wednesday that Rick Santorum plans an 11 a.m. appearance Thursday at Peachtree-DeKalb Airport in DeKalb County. The event is free and open to the public. Santorum already has appeared in Cumming in Forsyth County.

Also, Ann Romney, wife of candidate Mitt Romney, plans to appear in and in Buckhead where she will open her husband's Georgia campaign headquarters at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Both Romney events are open to the public.

Newt Gingrich, who spoke earlier this month in Suwanee and Cumming and has been making a bus tour of other cities in Georgia, has announced that he plans to appear at a at 7:45 a.m. at the 1818 Club in Duluth March 6. He has called Georgia crucial to his election success.

Georgia's 73 delegates are the biggest prize on Super Tuesday, when 10 states vote or begin caucuses.
