Mobile App Planned for Duluth

City officials plan a launch soon.

Updated 9:12 a.m.

Details are still in the planning stages, but the City of Duluth is planning a mobile app for residents' use.

City Council recently authorized city staff to begin working with My Community Mobile LLC to design and support a mobile app. The company also has worked with the City of Decatur on such a project.

The Duluth app should be ready for use by residents sometime in December, according to Public Information Officer Alisa Williams. More details will be released when it is launched.

Apps for municipalities typically are for residents to make service requests from their mobile devices, and are not designed to replace functions already on the city website. Suwanee is among the cities to recently roll out a mobile app.

Note: This article has been updated to include the correct city that is working with My Community Mobile.
