State House District 96 candidate Mark Williams announced Friday that community leader Paula Hastings will serve as the campaign manager for his campaign this fall.
"I am very happy that Paula Hastings will serve as my campaign manager," said Williams in a press release. "She is a very hard worker who will help us organize this effort throughout the district."
“Mark Williams is the right choice for new leadership,” said Hastings. “He’s proven as a private citizen that he will get things done for our community, and that’s exactly what we need now. We need new leadership and we need people who accomplish things, not just play politics.”
Williams, a Republican, will be running against incumbent Democrat Pedro "Pete" Marin in the Nov. 6 General Election. District 96 represents parts of Duluth and Norcross.
Williams is the president of Printing Trade Co. based in Norcross and is making his first bid for elected office. He is a lifelong Duluth resident.
Williams is a past chairman of the Gwinnett Place Community Improvement District. He also has served as president of the Cardinal Lake homeowner association. He is the co-founder of the Foster Children’s Foundation that provides educational and material assistance to foster families across Georgia.
He has been involved in bringing new businesses to Gwinnett by serving on the board of directors of both the Duluth Merchants Association and the Norcross Merchants Association.
