Intersection Not As Dangerous Now With Signal

Traffic signal Installed at Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and Chattahoochee Drive where numerous vehicular crashes and several fatalities have occurred.

A traffic signal has been installed at the intersection of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and Chattahoochee Drive through cooperation between Gwinnett County and the City of Duluth. The estimated $100,000 cost of the new traffic light is being shared 50/50 by the city and county.

The Duluth City Council approved entering into an intergovernmental agreement with the county to share the cost in February. Gwinnett County provided the design for the signalized intersection.

Numerous vehicular crashes and several traffic fatalities have been reported at the dangerous intersection. The city had approached the county about the need for a light at this location, and the county agreed it was warranted.

The county will coordinate the timing of the signal at the PIB/Chattahoochee Drive intersection with the traffic light at PIB and Sugarloaf Parkway during morning and afternoon rush hours.
