Name Duluth's Gateway Sculpture

City to release partial images of the sculpture in anticipation of official unveiling later this year on the Roundabout.

If you missed the meet and greet reception last week (April 30) for Michael Dillon, the Milton artist/blacksmith selected to design the gateway sculpture for Duluth’s Roundabout, and unveiling of a model of the sculpture, don’t despair.

The city will be releasing partial images of the sculpture over the next few months in anticipation of the official unveiling of the full-scale sculpture later this year.

The city is asking citizens to help name the sculpture, which has an agricultural theme, reflecting Duluth’s beginning as a farming community. An iron plow serves as the base for a stainless steel bird with extended wings. The wings represent plow handles. The bird's beak points toward downtown Duluth.
