Gwinnett Trash Pickup Not Affected by Holidays

County offices will be closed Friday, Dec. 23, and Monday, Dec. 26, for the Christmas holiday and resume regular working hours Tuesday, Dec. 27.

 

All Gwinnett County government offices, with the exception of those operations required for the comfort and safety of citizens, will be closed for Christmas and New Year.

According to a press release, all offices will be closed Friday, Dec. 23, and Monday, Dec. 26,  for the Christmas holiday and resume regular working hours on Tuesday, Dec. 27. The offices will again be closed Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, for the New Year’s Day holiday and resume normal hours on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

A Magistrate Court judge, however, will be available 24 hours a day at the Gwinnett County Detention Center, including holidays.

As far as trash pickup is concerned, haulers will follow their normal trash and recycling pickup schedule the week of Christmas and New Year’s holidays. The Gwinnett County Solid Waste and Recycling Call Center will be closed Dec. 23-26 and Jan. 2, but the call centers for the individual haulers will be open.
