Schrader, Brantley Win Judgeships

Here are the unofficial figures in the Tuesday runoffs for Gwinnett Superior and State Court positions.

Kathy Schrader and Emily Brantley were the winners in two runoffs for Gwinnett Superior Court judge and Gwinnett State Court judge seats, according to unofficial results in the Aug. 21 Primary Runoff election.

Schrader, a Duluth attorney and mediator, is a past president of the Gwinnett Bar Association. She serves as an associate Municipal Court judge for the cities of Duluth and Sugar Hill.

Brantley, a Suwanee resident, is an attorney in private practice in Gwinnett County.

Schrader will replace retiring Superior Court Judge K. Dawson Jackson. Brantley will fill the post of retiring Gwinnett State Court Judge Robert “Bob” Mock.

In a close race for the District 3 seat on the Gwinnett County Commission, Republican incumbent Mike Beaudreau apparently lost to Republican contender Tommy Hunter. Hunter received 4,577 votes (50.31%). Beaudreau got 4,521 votes (49.69%).
