Duluth Stands Out as a 2012 Trendsetter City

Duluth was among six Georgia cities honored as 2012 Trendsetters by the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) and Georgia Trend magazine at GMA’s annual Mayors’ Day Conference Jan. 22 in Atlanta. Duluth was recognized for its Korean Task Force created to bridge cultural and language barriers between the city’s Korean residents and businesses and City Hall. Duluth Councilman Kelly Kelkenberg, l-r, and Duluth Mayor Nancy Harris accept the city’s Trendsetter award from Georgia Trend Publisher Neely Young, and GMA President Billy Trapnell, mayor of Metter.

“We’re very proud of these Trendsetting cities,” said GMA Executive Director Lamar Norton. “They demonstrate the best of what cities are doing around the state to foster community, advance the arts and culture, and assist individuals and businesses in achieving their goals.” Duluth and the other Trendsetting cities are featured in the February issue of Georgia Trend magazine.
