Duluth Planting Two Cherry Trees on Arbor Day

Duluth will celebrate 23 years of a being a Tree City USA and honor the legacy of five local citizens by planting trees on Arbor Day, Friday, Feb. 17.

Two cherry trees will be planted in a ceremony starting at 10 a.m. at Bunten Road Park, according to Duluth Parks & Recreation Department Director Kathy Marelle.

The tree plantings will recognize Jeff Cook, Joyce Fox, Cody Moran, Wally Odum, and Archie Warren.

As a Tree City, Duluth encourages conserving trees and planting trees to improve the environment for future generations.

Arbor Day is celebrated the third Friday in February every year in Georgia.
