Duluth City Budget Work Sessions Continue

Mayor, city council, department heads and city staff to participate in discussions on FY2013 proposed budget. Citizens can attend and observe.

The Duluth City Council has scheduled work sessions to discuss the proposed FY2013 budget starting at 5:30 p.m. today (April 25) in the Community Room at .

The mayor, city council members, department heads and city staff will be participating in the discussions. Other budget work session dates are planned April 26 and April 30 (if necessary). No official action will be taken at the budget work sessions. Citizens are invited to attend and observe the discussions.

The budget is available for review in the City Clerk’s office at city hall from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. It is also available online.

Anticipated revenue for the draft FY2013 budget is $24.392 million with anticipated expenses amounting to $23.896 million. This compares to $20.798 million in revenue and $21.942 million in expenses in the amended FY2012 budget.

Dates for public hearings and adoption of the budget have not yet been announced. The FY2013 budget runs from July 1, 2012, to June 30, 2013.
