Duluth Approves 2011 List of City-Sponsored Events
List includes returning favorites and new 10th anniversary September 11 tribute
The Duluth City Council adopted a list of city-sponsored events at its March 14 meeting. The offical list includes returning favorites such as the Barefoot in the Park Fine Arts Festival in May, Duluth Celebrates America July 3, the Duluth Fall Festival in September, Halloween on the Green in November, the annual Christmas Tree Lighting in December, and the New Year’s Eve Celebration in December.
The 10th Anniversary of the World Trade Center tragedy will be observed Sept. 11 in conjunction with the city’s unveiling of the Living Honorarium honoring living veterans, police officers, firefighters and emergency medical service providers on the Town Green.
The name of the Poochfest presented by the Duluth Historical Society in October was changed to the Chattapoochie Festival in honor of the Dog Park being developed at Rogers Bridge Park.
