Don't Forget to Vote Tuesday

One contested race for Duluth City Council Post 4, Sunday liquor sales on Nov. 8 ballot.

Two candidates are vying for a post on the Duluth City Council in the only contested race in the Duluth Muncicipal Election scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 8, at . Voters will elect a mayor and two council members. There is also a referendum on whether or not to allow Sunday retail alcohol sales in the city limits on the ballot.

Current Mayor Nancy Harris and Post 5 Councilman Greg Whitlock are unopposed for re-election. and are running for the Post 4 council seat being vacated by Councilman Doug Mundrick, who is not seeking re-election.

If approved by a majority vote, the referendum would authorize retailers in counties and cities that already allow package sales of beer, wine and distilled spirits to sell alcoholic beverages from 12:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Sundays. The Duluth city council approved placing the issue on the ballot back in July.

All voting in the city election takes place at Duluth City Hall. Valid identification is required to vote. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
