Coming In Mail: Duluth Life Newsletter

City officials approve funds for mailings to residents and businesses.

Turns out there's something that still needs the mail these days: the Duluth Life publication.

At Monday's City Council meeting, Duluth officials approved $11,000 to resume mailing the quarterly publication, which has glossy, full color cover and inside pages.

Alisa Williams, the city's director of public information and marketing, explained that the city staff feels there has been a "disconnect" with the public by distributing Duluth Life via email.

"People would read the email one timeΒ and then delete it," Williams said Monday. "We had people tell us -- 'mail it.' "

Also, mailings now will include businesses in the city, as well as residents. Williams estimates that the publication has a circulation of about 9,000.
