Briscoe Field Privatization Officially a No Go

As promised during its June meeting, the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners took the steps to take plans to privatize Briscoe Field off the table.

On June 5, the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners voted to They also moved to withdraw the preliminary application to the Federal Aviation Administration pursuant to the FAA’s Airport Privatization Pilot Program.

Gwinnett County announced Friday (Juy 20) it received a letter from the FAA dated July 5 confirming that Briscoe Field has been removed from privatization program.

These actions officially end the possibility of privatization and commercialization of Briscoe Field.
