2013 Voting Opens in Duluth

Two City Council posts have opposition.

It was a quiet morning Monday (Oct. 14) at City Hall in Duluth for the opening of election season 2013.

By mid-morning, just a handful of voters had cast ballots for the two City Council races that have opposition. However, elections staffers say that is somewhat typical of the turnout early in the voting period.

Post 1 and Post 2 have three candidates each. They break down like this:

  • Post 1: Marsha Anderson Bomar (incumbent), David Cossette, Louis Tseng.
  • Post 2: Kirkland Carden, Jim Dugan (incumbent), Seth Grey.
Early voting will continue through Nov. 1. Election Day is Nov. 5. Voting is restricted to residents within the city limits.
