The woman accused of causing two fatal multi-vehicle accidents in two years, including one during the Memorial Day weekend on Ga. 316 in Gwinnett County, was granted bond Tuesday afternoon.
Police say Townes was the at-fault driver in a seven-vehicle accident Sunday, May 25 that killed Pamela Leake of Lawrenceville and injured several others. The pile-up near the Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road bridge closed the freeway for hours.
Police said Townes was wanted in DeKalb County for vehicular homicide in a four-car wreck two years ago that killed Lymeng Lim. Lim was a U.S. Navy veteran, WSB-TV said.
Townes appeared in court for a bond hearing Tuesday afternoon. She was granted a bond of $125,000 for the DeKalb charge, and $25,000 for each of seven other charges for a total of $300,000, the TV station reported.
