Two Teens Arrested for Street Racing in Duluth

The suspects first were detected by Duluth Police on Buford Highway.

Two Duluth teens were arrested last weekend on street racing charges after police radar detected them traveling over 70 miles an hour in a 45 mph zone.

According to Duluth Police records, Jeremy Marco Henfield of a Plantation Trace Drive address and Kristan Kevon Clarke of a Galway Court address were arrested on speeding and racing charges.

The suspects were first spotted traveling side by side, northbound on Buford Highway near Dutch Mill Lane about 8:38 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, according to the police incident report.

After the officer began pursuit, the vehicles turned left on Rogers Bridge Road. One vehicle quickly sped up, and the other did not. The Duluth officer radioed another officer to pursue the vehicle that went ahead.

One of the vehicles stopped near Chattahoochee Drive. The driver, later identified as Henfield, denied racing, and said that the driver of the other vehicle was his brother.

Later, the officers determined that both vehicles were registered to Clarke's father, and that the two racing suspects were not brothers.

This information was obtained by Duluth Police. It does not indicate a conviction. Questions should be directed to duluth@patch.com.
