Two Suspects Arrested in Aldi Parking Lot Murder

Investigators with the Duluth Police Department arrested two suspects in the early morning hours Tuesday (Dec. 13) for their involvement in the murder of Kwang Ko that occurred Dec. 8, according to Maj. Don Woodruff.

The two suspects Seung Won Lee, 24, and Dong Ho Shin, 30, both of Duluth, each have been charged with one count of felony murder and one count of aggravated assault, Woodruff reported. Search warrants were served following these arrests, and evidence related to the investigation was recovered, he said.

Additional arrests are pending, and the investigation is continuing,Woodruff reported.

Ko, 32, of Duluth was found stabbed and bleeding in the parking lot of the Aldi at 2618 Pleasant Hill Road in Duluth about 7 a.m. last Thursday. He was discovered by a citizen using the ATM at the Bank of America who called police, according to Woodruff.

Ko died after being transported by EMS to Gwinnett Medical Center-Duluth, Woodruff said. With his death, Ko became the city’s first homicide case in 2011.
