Third Suspect in Wells Fargo Robbery in Custody

Marcus Rashed Rutledge was wanted in connection with an armed robbery at a Wells Fargo in Lawrenceville in December.

According to the Gwinnett County Sheriff's website, the third suspect in an armed robbery at a Lawrenceville bank in December is now in their custody.

Marcus Rashed Rutledge of Lawrenceville was located and taken into custody without incident Tuesday, Jan. 8, by a team of GCPD detectives, FBI agents, and the Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit, according to Gwinnett Police. He was booked into the Gwinnett County Detention Center at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday.

He has been charged with armed robbery and is being held without bond.

Gwinnett County Police believe Rutledge was one of the gunmen who held up the Wells Fargo on Lawrenceville Highway Dec. 28.

Police arrested Jamar Terrell of Lawrenceville shortly after the robbery. Terrell is believed to be the other gunman and the owner of the getaway car.

Thomas Birdsong turned himself in to police Jan. 3 after seeing media coverage of the robbery. GCPD said Birdsong acted as a lookout and was supposed to be the original getaway driver.
