SWAT Team Called to Gwinnett Apartment Complex

Police are at the Park Crossing Apartments in Unincorporated Lilburn.

Update 12:20pm -
Gwinnett County Police were called to a unit at the Park Crossing Apartments after a mother called concerned about her daughter at about 7:30 Saturday morning.

When police arrived, the daughter, who is in her 20's, had a gun to her head. The SWAT team and Crisis Negotiators were called to the scene since the apartment complex is a high density residential area.

Before SWAT was in place, the daughter reportedly fired a shot. Police do not believe she was targeting officers, but it may have been accidental or a warning shot.

Police were able to convince the woman to leave the apartment at about 11:15am. She was taken into custody and to the Gwinnett County Jail. Charges are pending, but police will focus on getting her mental health assistance.
