Reward Is Increased in 2012 Slaying Case in Duluth

Monique Marlowe was shot to death while at work at Hertz on Satellite Boulevard.

A reward has been increased to $50,000 for information in a September 2012 slaying case in unincorporated Duluth.

According to a Gwinnett Police news release, Hertz Rent-A-Car has upped the reward from $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the slaying of Monique Marlowe, 24.

Marlowe was shot while cleaning a car in the back of the Hertz location on Satellite Boulevard. She died after being transported to Gwinnett Medical Center.

Police said Marlowe was approached by a young black male wearing a light blue shirt, and was shot once.

The incident occurred in a populated area during a busy time of day (about 5:00 to 5:30 p.m.), police said.  It's possible that witnesses have not come forward, and also possible that witnesses did not realize that what they saw is important.

Marlowe was able to give police a description of the shooter before being transported to the hospital.

Anyone with information should call Gwinnett Police detectives at 770-513-5300. Also, callers can remain anonymous when contacting Crime Stoppers (404-557-TIPS) and still be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment.
