Police say a fatal shooting at a Gwinnett County motel earlier this month could have been part of a feud between two rap groups.
WSB –TV reported Gwinnett police believe the two groups — “Migos” and “2G” — have been feuding for about six months, and the June 11 shooting at the Quality Inn on Venture Drive near Pleasant Hill Road and Interstate 85 may have been the latest flare-up.
Paris Brown, 23, was shot and killed after two suspects entered a room where a party was going on and opened fire. After the incident, Gwinnett investigators said the shooting could have been gang-related.
Last week, Gwinnett Police issued a warrant for Cory Marzette, charging him with murder and aggravated assault. Police have not been able to identify a second suspect.
According to WSB, police believe 2G is responsible for the killing; Marzette is reportedly affiliated with the group.
Gwinnett Cpl. Deon Washington told the TV station a member of Migos was at the party and the likely target of the shooters. Brown was called a supporter of the rap group.
