Police: Tattoo Artist Beaten and Robbed; Man Jailed

The victim said he was robbed of about $2,000, police said.

A Duluth man was jailed recently on an armed robbery charge after a man was beaten and robbed after giving tattoos, according to police.

Isaiah Hickman of a Satellite Boulevard address was booked into the Gwinnett Detention Center on Jan. 10, according to jail records. This was in connection with a Dec. 26 incident in the Sweetwater Road area of Lawrenceville, according to Gwinnett Police records.

The victim told police that he had been giving tattoos to three men in a tattoo parlor that he ran out of his apartment, according to the police report. The victim said the men robbed him at gunpoint of about $2,000, which included money they had paid for tattoos.

The victim said one man pointed a gun at his head, and that another man grabbed him from behind, using his forearm in the victim's throat. The victim said the men beat him, and threatened to shoot him. The victim begged for his life, and told the captors to take what he had in his pockets.

The victim said the men left in a dark passenger car, and that a woman was waiting in the vehicle, according to the police report.

The victim sustained a minor laceration above his lip and an injured bottom lip. Also, officers told the victim that he should not be running a tattoo parlor out of his apartment.
