Police Name Husband as a Suspect in Death of Missing Gwinnett Mother

GCPD identified a body found over the weekend as that of Dominique "Nique" Leili of Lawrenceville.

Gwinnett County Police say the body found during the weekend in Lawrenceville is that of a mother who was reported missing and that her husband is a suspect in her homicide.

On July 16th, friends and family of Dominique “Nique” Leili searched for the 44-year-old mother of three in the woods behind her home in unincorporated Lawrenceville. They found a body meeting the physical description of the woman; however, due to the condition of the body, the victim could not be immediately identified. Investigators used dental records to identify Nique today.

Nique was first reported missing by her husband, Matthew Leili, on July 11. He said his wife had not been seen or heard from since the 9th. Police say there were no signs of foul play. Detectives talked to Mattew Leili the day before his wife’s body was discovered.

However, the husband said he’d hired a lawyer and detectives were not able to get a statement from him, Matthew’ father who was staying at the house, or their 12- or 9-year-old daughters. Nique’s 19-year-old daughter from a previous marriage has been cooperative in the investigation, according to police.
