Police Arrest, Charge Diamond Store Robbery Suspects

Masks used in robbery, black Glock replica BB gun found in trunk of vehicle stopped by Gwinnett Police.

Gwinnett Police reported arresting and charging two suspects last week in the December armed robbery of S.E Diamonds at 1291 Old Peachtree Road in Duluth after stopping a vehicle suspected of being used in multiple thefts from autos.

Police officers responded to a call where multiple entering auto (thefts from vehicle) incidents had occurred last Wednesday morning (March 16). When officers stopped a vehicle believed related to the thefts, they found a large quantity of property reported stolen from the autos, according to Cpl. Edwin Ritter. They also discovered four masks, a black Glock replica BB gun, and tools for breaking into cars in the trunk. Two of the masks and the gun were identified as being used in the S.E. Diamonds robbery, Ritter said.

A male wearing a clown mask forced his way into the jewelry story about 7 p.m. Dec. 10 and pointed a gun at the victims, Ritter reported. A second man wearing a camouflage mask followed him into the store. They robbed the store of $68,000 in jewelry and $20 in cash from the register, he said.

The stolen jewelry has not been recovered. Park stated that he had been inspired to commit the robbery by a movie, Ritter said.
