Mother to Suspect: 'Remember, Zip It Till You See a Lawyer'

A Duluth man has been arrested in connection with an October armed robbery at a residence, according to police.

A Duluth man is facing an armed robbery charge in connection with an incident at a Duluth residence that also involved other suspects, according to police.

Marc Lee Felton of a Howell Chase address in Duluth was booked into the Gwinnett Detention Center on Dec. 17, according to jail records. Charges include armed robbery, kidnapping and false imprisonment. Felton is being held without bond.

According to the Duluth Police incident report, when the officer came to Felton's residence to serve warrants on Dec. 17, the officer could hear a female yelling inside the apartment.

When the suspect answered the door, police led him outside. The woman, who later was identified as the suspect's mother, told her son, "Remember, zip it till you see a lawyer," when police told her why the suspect was being arrested.

This arrest was in connection with a robbery on Oct. 24 at a Henry Court address in Duluth, according to police.

In the October incident, four suspects came into the Henry Court residence and robbed the victim at gunpoint. Items taken included an Apple MacBook Pro, a PlayStation 3 video console, and $45 in cash, according to police.

A Snellville man, Jeremy Brian Lawrence, also has been arrested in connection with this incident. According to police, the Snellville man was friends with the robbery victim, and the others in the robbery were unknown to the victim.

According to the incident report, the Snellville suspect was at his friend's house around noon Oct. 24. The suspect left after an hour but returned at 7 p.m., claiming his cell phone was there. Three unknown men were with him.

While the Snellville suspect and his friend were looking for the phone, one of the other men struck the friend in the face with a gun. The unknown man pointed a gun at him until Lawrence left the room, the report says.

The other two men entered the room, one of them with a shotgun. All three men demanded that the victim give them "the money." After the victim tried explaining that he didn't have any money, two of the men ransacked the room, opening drawers and pulling down ceiling tiles.

Having no idea what was going on, the victim's girlfriend entered. One of the suspects pointed a gun at her and ordered her to sit down on the bed. They threatened to take the girl for ransom if they didn't get the money.
