Lt. Hood Graduates From FBI Academy Program

Duluth Police Lt. Jackie Hood completes 10 weeks of advanced investigative, management, and fitness training.

Duluth Police Lt. Jackie Hood graduated from the FBI National Academy Program at Quantico, VA, on March 22.

The 252nd Session of the National Academy consisted of men and women from 49 states. Included in the class were members of law enforcement agencies from the District of Columbia, 27 international countries, four military organizations, and five federal civilian organizations, according to a press release issued by the City of Duluth announcing Lt. Hood’s graduation.

She joined 267 other law enforcement officers completing the program at the graduation ceremony.

Duluth City Manager Tim Shearer surprised Lt. Hood by attending the ceremony and congratulating her personally. Shearer, a U.S. Army Reservist, was in the area and arranged his schedule to attend the ceremony.

The National Academy Program, conducted at the FBI Academy, offers 10 weeks of advanced investigative, management, and fitness training for selected officers having proven records as professionals within their agencies. On average, these officers have 19 years of law enforcement experience and usually return to their agencies to serve in executive-level positions.

Hood for her dedication to expand her knowledge by attending and graduating from the F.B.I.N.A,” said Duluth Police Chief Randy Belcher. “It is a privilege and honor for law enforcement officers throughout the world to attend the F.B.I.N.A. The training course not only allows the officers to receive exceptional training, but it gives them the opportunity to make life-long friends and professional contacts around the world. There is no doubt in my mind that Lt. Hood will become an excellent commander in the future.”
