He's being held without bond, according to detention center records.

Updated 11:16 a.m.

John L. Fanning, who has been jailed previously in Gwinnett, was jailed Tuesday (Nov. 12) while in Suwanee, records show.

Fanning, the son of former Duluth mayor and Gwinnett County commissioner Shirley Lasseter, is being held without bond at the Gwinnett Detention Center. He was arrested by Gwinnett Sheriff's Department officials in Suwanee on a hold for court charge.

Jail records show a Treadstone Overlook address in Suwanee for Fanning.

He previously was arrested in October 2012 after a domestic violence situation in Dacula with his estranged wife, Lesley Fanning.

Also, Fanning faces federal charges of bribery and drug smuggling in connection with a sting operation that also implicated his mother. Shirley Lasseter is currently serving a federal prison sentence for bribery.
