Gun Found in Gwinnett County Jail Holding Cell

Gun found in holding cell prior to being introduced to general jail population. Duluth man charged with bringing firearm to jail.

Gwinnett County Sheriff’s deputies reported finding a gun in a holding cell at the jail on Monday.

Andre Rose has been identified as the person responsible for bringing the firearm into the jail, according to a press release issued by the Sheriff's Department. Since it was also determined that the firearm had been stolen, authorities report that Rose and been charged with two felony counts of theft by receiving stolen property and crossing the guard line as well as a misdemeanor charge of carrying a deadly weapon. Jail records show that Rose has a Duluth address.

Officials said the weapon was located before it was taken into the general jail population. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing at this time.
