Fugitive Squad Arrests Man Wanted for Armed Robbery, Kidnapping

Sheriff's Office deputies apprehended Bobby Alexander Hunter in connection with a Duluth incident, during which the resident was pistol-whipped and robbed at gunpoint.

A man wanted in Duluth for a long list of charges, including kidnapping and armed robbery, has been arrested by the sheriff’s office fugitive unit.

Bobby Alexander Hunter of Lawrenceville was wanted in connection with an armed robbery in Duluth on Oct. 24, 2013, in which four men entered a Henry Court residence, pistol-whipped the male occupant and threatened to kidnap his girlfriend for ransom.

They stole a laptop, game system and cash, according to the Duluth Police Department incident report. One of the men, Marc Lee Felton of Duluth, was arrested.

Hunter also was wanted by the Georgia State Patrol for fleeing capture in January.

Deputies located Hunter at the Krystal restaurant on U.S. Highway 78 in Stone Mountain on Wednesday, May 21, Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Shannon Volkodav said in a media release Thursday afternoon.

He is charged with the following:

  • Armed Robbery
  • Kidnapping
  • Burglary
  • False Imprisonment
  • Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a Crime
  • Felony Probation Violation
  • Fleeing and Eluding Police
  • Failure to Yield (2 counts)
  • Reckless Driving
  • Failure to Obey Traffic Control Device
  • Failure to Signal When Turning or Changing Lanes
  • Obstruction
  • Passing in a No Passing Zone

Also arrested was Hunter’s girlfriend Jaclyn Joanna Velasquez , who was charged with hindering the apprehension of a fugitive.

Both are being held at the Gwinnett County Jail; Hunter is being held without bond.
