Duluth Police Look for Leads in First 2011 Murder

Asian man apparently stabbed in Aldi parking lot has been identified as Kwang Ko, 32, of Duluth.

Duluth Police are looking for leads and at surveillance tapes from nearby businesses after an Asian man was found stabbed and bleeding in the parking lot of the Aldi at 2618 Pleasant Hill Road in Duluth Thursday. He was identified Friday as Kwang Ko, 32, of Duluth, according to Maj. Don Woodruff.

The man, whose identity was initially withheld pending notification of next of kin, died after being transported by EMS to Gwinnett Medical Center-Duluth, Woodruff said. The victim became the city’s first homicide case in 2011.

Ko was discovered about 7 a.m. Thursday (Dec. 8) by a citizen using the ATM at the Bank of America who called police, Woodruff said.
