Duluth Family Displaced by House Fire

A portion of the roof was burned off, firefighters said.

A Duluth family of five was displaced by a fire to their house early Thursday (Oct. 24).

According to a Gwinnett Fire news release, firefighters were summoned to the 4400 Block of Creek Ford Drive in Duluth about 12:38 a.m. on Thursday. The two-story house had about half of the roof on fire when firefighters arrived.

A resident of the house said they heard crackling in the attic and saw an orange glow from the window before calling 911.

No injuries were reported, but some 60 percent of the roof was burned off, the release said. The cause is undetermined. A Gwinnett arson investigator was called to the scene to investigate.
