Darinel Martinez Lopez' Death Ruled a Homicide

Blunt force trauma determined as cause of death.

The death of Darinel “Dany” Martinez Lopez, 26, in unincorporated Duluth has been ruled a homicide. According to a report from Gwinnett Police, blunt force trauma was determined as the cause of death.

Lopez’ body was discovered about 3 p.m. Sunday (July 28) in a wooded area near Bella Vista Apartments. 

He was last seen by his family around noon on Saturday, July 27. Lopez lived with his mother and siblings at The Falls Apartments, 3925 Satellite Blvd. This complex is adjacent to the property where the victim was found.

Gwinnett detectives need to speak with anyone who may have information on this case, particularly anyone who may have encountered Lopez during period before his body was discovered. Anyone with information can call detectives at 770-513-5300.
