Andruw Jones Charged With Battery in Domestic Dispute

Gwinnett Police arrested Jones after responding to a domestic dispute call at his and his wife's home in unincorporated Duluth early Christmas morning.

Former Atlanta Braves centerfielder Andruw R. Jones was arrested and charged with battery in a domestic dispute that occurred between he and his wife at their home in unincorporated Duluth early Christmas morning, Gwinnett Police reported.

Gwinnett Police responded to a domestic dispute call at the Jones home about 1:25 a.m. Dec. 25. During the investigation of this call, probable cause was developed to arrest Jones for battery, according to police.

Jones was transported to Gwinnett County Jail and charged with battery, police reported. He was booked into the jail at 3:48 a.m. Tuesday and released at 11 a.m. after posting a $2,400 bond, according to jail records.

Jones, whose baseball career includes 16 years in the major leagues with five teams including the Atlanta Braves, last played for the New York Yankees. He reportedly recently signed to play with the Japanese League’s Rakuten Golden Eagles in 2013.
