Columnist Criticizes WSB Radio for Adding Limbaugh

The controversial radio talk-show host joins the Atlanta station's lineup, and Clark Howard is moved to another time slot.

Controversial talk-show host Rush Limbaugh is never lacking for an audience, and now he will have more exposure in Atlanta. One prominent Gwinnett voice does not like the move.

WSB-AM and 95.5 FM Radio, two of Atlanta's best known stations, announced this week that Limbaugh willl be joining the lineup effective Monday, Oct. 1.

Not surprisingly, the move has met with strong reaction -- negative in the case of longtime Gwinnett journalist and newsletter publisher Elliott Brack.

It its latest issue, Brack's Gwinnett Forum said WSB "seems desperate" for adding Limbaugh to its lineup.

"In other words, their move is toward a lower common denominator...."

-- Elliott Brack, writing in Gwinnett Forum

"The station seems more and more geared toward the right wing elements of society in the line-up of its media personalities. In other words, their move is toward a lower common denominator....," Brack wrote.

The Gwinnett Forum piece also criticized moving Clark Howard, the highly prominent consumer advocate, to a later time slot.

WSB, of course, will be losing longtime talk-show host Neal Boortz, who has announced his retirement effective in 2013.

Brack is a former publisher of the Gwinnett edition of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The AJC, like WSB, is owned by Cox Enterprises.

Republican talk show hosts do NOT represent conservative values. They represent hate.

WSB had a chance to do the right thing but instead they bring on the most hateful, divisive radio host on the planet. Shame on you WSB. Even more reason now to NEVER tune in to WSB.

Ike, I am sorry to hear that you do not have the intellectual capacity to understand Rush. Sounds like you prefer the hateful lineup of WGUN.
